Switching the XENEON EDGE between widgets and monitor mode
The Edge can run iCUE widgets or act as a normal extra monitor in Windows. You can switch in iCUE, or set a hotkey and flip between the two in a second.
Switch in iCUE
- Open CORSAIR iCUE.
- Select XENEON EDGE from the navigation bar.
- Click Screen Setup on the left side panel.
- Toggle iCUE Widgets to Desktop. The Edge is now a regular monitor. Toggle it back for widgets.
Set a hotkey
In the same Screen Setup panel there is a Switch Display Mode setting with a text field next to it. Type the key or key combination you want. After that, pressing it flips the Edge between monitor mode and widget mode, even with the iCUE window closed, as long as iCUE is still running in the background.
Which mode when
- Widgets for things you glance at or tap: sensors, volume, a clock, Stream Deck buttons, or something alive like an aquarium.
- Monitor for full apps that do not need a big screen: Spotify, Discord, Teams, or benchmark readouts while a test runs on your main display.
Questions
Do I need iCUE for the XENEON EDGE?
Not to use it as a monitor. It is a 14.5 inch, 2560 x 720 touchscreen that works as a normal display. You need iCUE only for widgets.
Does the hotkey work when iCUE is closed?
Yes, as long as iCUE is still running in the background.
