How to install a custom widget on the XENEON EDGE
Custom widgets come as a single .icuewidget file. You import it into iCUE once, then put it on the Edge like any built-in widget. The whole thing takes about a minute.
Step by step
- Get the widget. Most custom widgets live on the Elgato Marketplace, in the iCUE widgets section. The widgets Corsair makes are free, and community makers sell paid ones. Download the one you want.
- Import it into iCUE. In iCUE, click the + button in the Widgets panel. That opens the Import Widget wizard, where you drag in or browse for the .icuewidget file. You can also just double-click the file, and iCUE opens the wizard for you.
- Let iCUE check it. iCUE verifies the file before adding it and shows a warning to only import widgets from sources you trust. Once it passes, the widget shows up at the top of your widget list.
- Put it on the Edge. Open XENEON EDGE in iCUE, pick the widget in the Widgets panel and choose a slot size. Its settings appear right next to it.
Removing a widget
Right-click the widget in your list and choose Delete Widget. That removes it from every supported device at once and cannot be undone, so export it first if you might want it back.
Good to know
- No limit. You can keep as many custom widgets in your library as you like, and import the same one more than once if you want two copies with different settings.
- Not just the Edge. Imported widgets also work on VANGUARD keyboards with a screen and on LCD pump screens, if the widget supports them.
- Check the requirements. Each widget lists the iCUE version it needs. Every Widgetry widget needs iCUE 5.47 or later on Windows.
Questions
Do I need iCUE to use widgets?
Yes. The XENEON EDGE works as a plain monitor without iCUE, but widgets only run inside iCUE.
Where do I find custom widgets?
The Elgato Marketplace has an iCUE widgets section with free Corsair widgets and paid ones from community makers. You can also try every Widgetry widget live on widgetry.shop before you buy.
Is it safe to import a widget file?
iCUE checks that the file is a valid widget and warns you to only import from sources you trust. Stick to the Elgato Marketplace or makers you know.
